My maternal great-grandmother, Minnie Sue Morrow Foster, with her son, John Henry, circa 1895.

Minnie Sue was Native American - a full-blooded Cherokee Indian.  She was well-known in the south as a medicine woman and shaman.

People would travel from great distances in order to have Minnie Sue work her "medicine" on them.

Shortly after Minnie Sue died in 1936, she returned to visit my mother and her sister, Helen, who both had very vivid memories of seeing the ghost of their grandmother!

This wondeful old photograph was taken of my mother and three of her siblings, circa 1926.

Whoever took the picture obviously called the dirty little children in from playing in the yard in order to take the photo.

Pictured are: (left to right) my Aunt Helen, Aunt Aylene, Uncle Chuck ... and my precious mother, Carolyn, sitting in the tiny rocking chair.

Notice at the bottom left of the photo, there are three wispy streaks of mist.  Could this mist be the result of spirit energy that was captured on film when this picture was taken?

Was Dot trying to let her mother and sisters know that she was still with them, even in spirit?
